Public safety hazard is a strong claim. What exactly did you build, a homemade roller coaster in your backyard? Most DIY stuff is just a wobbly shelf or a bad paint job. Unless you're messing with live wires or gas lines, it's probably just ugly, not dangerous.

Guess my old gradient map addiction was the artistic equal of only eating microwave meals. Everything looked kinda decent but also like everyone else's warm leftovers.
