I got a timing belt job wrong on a 2007 Honda Civic in my garage last month

I was sure I had the marks lined up perfectly, but after I put it all back together it wouldn't start. I had to pull the valve cover and found I was off by one tooth on the exhaust cam. It took me another 3 hours to redo it. Anyone else ever have a timing job fight you like that?

Man, you ever hear about a timing belt going wrong? My buddy did his own on an old Corolla and it ran but sounded like a coffee can full of bolts (turns out he bent every single valve).

Oof, my old Civic ate valves too, but a junkyard head got it running.
