inI finally had to deal with a huge mis-cut on a custom vanity job in Boulder last month.
Ever think a small mistake couldn't ruin a whole project?

inMy neighbor said all my cable ties are a future tech's nightmare
Honestly, your neighbor's point about cutting them out is totally fair, but charging extra for removal feels like a stretch to me. That's just making a simple task sound scary to bump the bill. The real issue is using way too many ties, or cranking them down so tight they pinch cables. A few well placed ties are fine, and any tech worth their salt should own flush cutters. The problem isn't the tool, it's how some people use it.

inMy neighbor told me my dog barking at 6 AM was a real problem, not just 'morning energy'.
My old lab had the same morning energy issue. I started feeding him with a puzzle toy at 6, which kept him quiet and busy for a good half hour. It was a simple fix that helped both of us.

inAppreciation post: The old library in Beacon, NY has a display of 19th century binding repairs
My grandpa used to do book repairs as a hobby. He'd get that thin leather from old glove linings or sometimes cut up a worn-out wallet. The grain was always super fine, almost like tissue paper.
