Warning: My uncle told me to always torque a wheel bearing nut by feel, not with a wrench, and I just spun a hub on a 2018 Civic.

After his advice led to a comeback and a $400 hub assembly, who else has a better method for setting that preload correctly?

Actually, a torque wrench is the right tool for that job, not just a guess.

Ever torqued one by hand and heard that awful crunch?

Well, that's one expensive lesson. I guess "by feel" really means "by the sound of your wallet crying." Next time, maybe just use the torque spec like the rest of us.
