Finally got the patio pavers done after 2 months of off and on work

Last month I decided to tackle the weed patch in my backyard in Columbus. Started by digging out the old grass and leveling the ground, which took way longer than I thought. Mixed up a bag of paver base from Home Depot and spent a whole Saturday getting it flat. Laid the pavers last weekend and they actually look straight. Anyone else have trouble getting the sand to stay in the joints without it washing out after rain?

Polymeric sand is a game changer for that exact problem!

My neighbor in Columbus used polymeric sand for his patio and it held up great through three rainy seasons. Took about a day to harden but hasn't budged since.

My first rain after laying pavers turned the joints into a little river system, so I feel your pain. @sethtorres mentioned polymeric sand and that stuff really does lock in place once it sets. Just make sure you sweep it dry and mist it lightly or you'll end up with a crusty mess like I did on the edge. Three days later and the dogs haven't washed a single grain loose yet.
