I finally heard a broker at the coffee shop say something that made me pause
I was grabbing coffee yesterday and overheard a broker telling a client, 'I can get you a 6.2% rate, but your own bank will probably quote you 6.8% without even checking.' It was so specific and confident. It made me realize they might have access to rates we don't even see advertised. Has anyone else had a broker mention a precise rate like that before you even talked to your bank?

That specific rate talk always makes me a bit uneasy too.

Ask what exactly makes you uneasy, @aaronf40. Is it the idea of putting a number on creative work, or the way it can make a client relationship feel transactional from the start?
