My habit tracker went from messy to actually useful after 3 months

I started a bullet journal back in January and my habit tracker was just a jumble of tiny squares I kept forgetting to fill in. Then I switched to a rolling weekly layout where I only track 4 habits at a time instead of 12 and it actually works now. The difference is night and day for me. Has anyone else found that scaling down their tracker made a huge difference in sticking with it?

Oh come on, it wasn't a jumble. You just needed fewer boxes to fill in. Less really is more with these things.

Honestly this is such a classic mistake people make everywhere. Like at the grocery store when they cram the cart full of random stuff because having more choices feels safer, but then half of it gets thrown away. Or at work when someone adds fifteen bullet points to an email that could have been three. We just don't trust simplicity enough. Probably because it feels like we're not doing enough when we keep it simple.
