Networking feels different since everything went digital.

Back in the day, a firm handshake and a business card meant something. Now it's just connecting on apps and hoping for a reply.

Logged forever" is a scary way to put it. So now my awkward small talk at a conference mixer from 2015 is just sitting on a server somewhere? That's a bleak thought. It takes all the casual out of meeting people. Feels like every hello comes with permanent record paperwork.

Funny you mention the business card. Now every connection is logged forever, so it's harder to pretend you forgot someone's name. Makes the whole thing feel more permanent, for better or worse.
