The trick is the surface has to be totally dry and you wrap it tight, like crazy tight. Sometimes it's just covering a crack in a trash can until you can replace it, not a permanent fix but it beats water everywhere.

Totally agree, had a charcoal mask wreck my skin last week. Felt like straight up sandpaper, never again. Some stuff just strips everything good right out.
