Choosing between a new band saw blade or a fresh boning knife for the holiday rush
I had to pick one because the budget was tight, so I went with the Victorinox boning knife for $65. It made breaking down the 40 lambs last week way smoother, but now the saw is struggling with beef ribs. Anyone have a good source for affordable blades that hold an edge?

Man, that's a tough spot. My buddy had the same problem last season, his old blade was just shredding pork shoulders. He ended up trying a place called Saw Blade City online, got a decent three-pack for under fifty bucks. Said they lasted him through the whole winter rush without going totally dull. Might be worth a look before you ruin another primal cut.
