Oof, felt that. My terrible posture was basically my freelance career coach.

Actually used to think my slouch was just a physical thing. Then realized every time I hunched over the laptop I was also making bad calls, like taking terrible lowball offers. Straightening up somehow made me set better boundaries with clients. My bad posture really was training me to be a pushover.

That "freelance career coach" line is so true... but in a scary way. It makes me wonder if our bodies learn to shrink before our brains even get the memo. Like the slouch is the first step in a whole chain of giving up ground, both in your chair and in the negotiation. You get used to feeling small physically, so asking for more money just feels wrong somehow. The posture isn't just a result of the bad deals, it's practice for accepting them.
