Found out most people think the worst customer service is from big box stores, but my data says otherwise

Honestly, I was reading a report from the Better Business Bureau last month and it surprised me. It said that in 2023, the highest volume of unresolved complaints per capita was actually against local utility companies, not retail chains. Tbh, I always blamed the big guys too, but the stats show a 22% higher complaint rate for things like water and power providers in my state. Ngl, it made me rethink my own gripes with the cable company versus the hardware store. Has anyone else had a way harder time getting a real person on the line with a local service provider compared to a national retailer?

Interesting data, but my own experience is totally the opposite (I guess it depends on the area). The big box store near me has a terrible call center, but my water company actually answers the phone pretty fast.

Wait, are you saying the water company is good? That's wild to me. I mean, I've never heard anyone say that before, maybe it's just my area but they're the worst for me. Victorw95 has a good point about calling early, but even then I'm on hold forever. It feels like the big stores and the utility companies are in a race to the bottom sometimes.

Yeah @sarah_kelly78, I just call right when they open to skip the wait.
