My $400 lawnmower repair turned into a three month paperweight

Bought a new riding mower from a big box store, and the transmission gave out after two cuts. Called their service line, and they said a tech would come out. Waited two weeks, nothing. Called again, got a different person who said the first ticket was never made. They scheduled a pickup, which took another week. Got a call a month later saying the part was on backorder with no date. I asked for a refund or replacement, and the manager said all sales were final and I had to wait. It's been three months now, and I'm still mowing with a push mower I borrowed from my brother. The whole thing feels like they just took my money and ran. Has anyone else had a big store just completely fail to fix something they sold you?

Tell me about it. Had a fridge from them die in a year, and the repair circus took so long my groceries just spoiled in coolers. Felt like they hoped I'd give up and buy a new one.

Ugh, that's the worst. The exact same thing happened with my dishwasher. They sent three different techs who all said they needed to order a different part, and the whole thing dragged on for a month. It really does feel like a strategy to wear you down.
