Three years ago I was the green helper who couldn't land a wire nut without it falling apart, but last week I finished a full 4,000 sq ft house rewire in Charlotte solo.

My old boss called me yesterday and said the inspector passed it with zero corrections, which felt better than any paycheck.

A full rewire with no corrections is a solid job, but isn't that just meeting the code minimum? The real test is how it holds up in five years when devices get added and walls get opened.

That extra coil trick is gold (been there myself), but I'd add one thing - always leave a labeled diagram of the circuit runs taped inside the panel cover for the next guy. Future you or whoever opens that wall in five years will thank you when they're not guessing which wire goes where. Saves a ton of headache when you're trying to add a subpanel or relocate a switch down the line.

We always left a full coil of extra wire in every switch and outlet box. That extra foot of wire saved me three times last year when homeowners wanted to swap out devices for smart ones.
