inUpdate: I was convinced my bank's new 'fraud alert' texts were just a scam for months, but one saved me from a $1,200 charge at a gas station in Phoenix.
Wow, I was the exact same way! I'd delete those texts immediately, convinced they were phishing. But last month mine flagged a weird online subscription I didn't recognize, and it showed the company name and asked if it was me. Clicked "no" and it was gone. Totally changed my view on them.

inMy sourdough starter went from flat and sad to doubling in 4 hours after I moved it off the fridge top.
Ever try a heating pad on low?

inWhy does nobody talk about how much better a simple email list is than social media for real growth?
What kind of content did that coffee shop post to build that crowd, @wright.dakota? When I helped my friend's bookshop, we stopped just posting covers and started sharing short, funny quotes from different books each day. It took a few weeks, but people started coming in to find the "quote of the day" book, and that steady habit worked better than any single sale post.

inTbh, my clumsy comment at a quiet dinner turned things around
That rubber band idea is spot on. I was at a work thing last month where nobody talked for like ten whole minutes. Then Sarah from accounting dropped her phone and it made that loud clatter on the floor. Everyone jumped, then laughed, and suddenly we were all complaining about the bad coffee. It wasn't about the phone drop itself, it was the shared surprise that finally got people to stop trying so hard.

inI keep seeing people skip the primer step before painting their garage floor epoxy
Actually, those videos are a huge help for beginners. They cut the fluff and show the core steps without getting lost in details. Sometimes you just need to see the basic idea before diving into the boring stuff.
