inMy boss in Austin told me my reports were 'unreadable data dumps' and now I start every one with a three-bullet summary.
What if the problem is their limit, not your work? Some people just don't want to put in the effort to read. Calling something an "unreadable data dump" feels like a them problem, not a you problem. I've seen folks get praised for being "direct" while others get torn down for the same style. Maybe the cheat sheet just trains them to be lazy. Harsh delivery often means they're bad at giving feedback, period.

inI finally got my old Fluke 87V meter working again after it died on me mid-job last Thursday.
Nice! Mine did the same thing a few years back, just needed a new fuse.

inVent: The push for all-digital plans on my current site is causing more problems than it solves.
The real issue is losing the institutional memory paper markups create for future crews.

inA customer told me his old Nikon F3 was 'just a paperweight' now and it got under my skin
Oh, that hits home. A man brought in his dad's old Pentax K1000 last month, said it was junk now. I fixed the light seals just to prove a point, and the weight of it in my hands, that solid click of the shutter... it's a piece of history, not trash. We're not just technicians, we're caretakers.

inAppreciation post: I tried a new water-based finish on a walnut table and it dried with this weird milky haze that freaked me out.
Total game changers" seems like a strong take. I've done plenty of winter work in a cold garage without extra gear and things turned out fine. A finicky finish might just need more drying time, not a whole new setup.
