I used to spend hours on my kid's science projects, now I just ask an AI for ideas
For my daughter's 5th grade solar system model, I used to go all out. We'd buy styrofoam balls, paint, and wire, and I'd spend a whole weekend helping her build it. That changed about six months ago when a friend told me about a new AI tool for project ideas. I tried it, and it gave us a plan for a hanging mobile using paper plates and string that looked way better than our old way. It even listed the exact steps and what to say during the presentation. I know some people say this is cheating or takes away from learning... but honestly, it freed up our time to actually talk about the planets instead of just gluing things. The project got an A, and she was less stressed. Has anyone else used AI for school stuff and felt kinda guilty about it?

Totally get the guilt, but honestly you're using it right. The key is you still talked about the planets together. The problem is when parents just have the AI do the whole project for the kid without any learning. You turned it into a better study guide, which is smart.

Actually makes you wonder about the future of homework itself. If a tool can explain the solar system better than a textbook, maybe the assignment should change. Instead of just listing facts, kids could debate which planet to colonize first, using the AI info as their base. That way the tech handles the boring part, and the real thinking still happens.
