Just found out the average drywall sheet has over 2,000 paper fibers per square inch

Read it in some old trade magazine at the supply house while waiting on an order. They said it's why the paper face can hold so much mud without falling apart. I always just slapped it up without thinking about that. Makes you look at a scrap piece a bit different, you know? Ever come across a weird fact about our materials that stuck with you?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's story. He was cutting some old pressure treated lumber and got a giant splinter. The doctor told him the green stuff in there is copper, which is why it fights rot (and also why it stained his hand for a week). He never looked at a 4x4 the same way again.
