Just read that the average wedding dress uses about 15 yards of fabric
Honestly, I found that on a fabric supplier's blog while looking for silk prices. I always thought it was way less, maybe 8 or 10 yards. It makes sense when you think about big skirts and trains, but it still seems like a huge amount. On one hand, that's a lot of material and cost for something worn once. On the other, it's a special event and people want that dramatic look. Where do you all stand on using that much fabric for a single garment? Is it worth it, or is it wasteful?
