inRemember when everyone swore by those cheap plastic feeders from the farm store? I switched to a galvanized treadle feeder last spring and haven't had a rat problem since.
I read a blog post about deep litter where the person also tossed in some dried herbs like mint and lavender every few weeks. They said it helped even more with smells and the chickens seemed to enjoy scratching through it. Made me want to try that extra step next season. The whole method seems perfect for cold climates since the composting action gives off a little heat.

inHad a guy in my chair in Akron ask for the 'Tony Soprano' but with a twist
Remember that haircut from the 90s, the one everyone got? It looked fine on maybe two people. Most of the time a haircut is just a haircut, not some big statement. It grows out in a few weeks anyway. Getting this worked up over someone else's style seems like a waste of energy.

inMy whole color story fell apart when the dye lot was wrong
Ugh, that's the worst. I read this article a while back about how even big fashion houses have this problem, like a whole run of designer coats got scrapped because the sleeves didn't match the body. It's not just fabric either, I heard about a painter who mixed a custom color for a mural, ran out, and the new batch dried totally different. Makes you want to just work in black and white sometimes.

inI swore by a deep root watering spike for my new oak, but the soil test told a different story
Slow drip from a soaker hose works better for me.

inI spilled a full cup of coffee on my yearly log in a Phoenix coffee shop, so I quickly blotted it, let it dry, and turned the brown splotches into a weird abstract border with a gel pen.
Remember reading that wine spill post too, but it was actually a sketchbook, not a travel journal. The artist just went with it and painted the whole page red, then added black ink over top. Your coffee border sounds like the same kind of quick thinking.
