So I sat in a diner for half the day, watching my plans fall apart. Ended up missing my first night's camping spot and just drove back the next morning. Learned that no matter how much you plan, things can go wrong in ways you never expect. Now I pack a basic tool kit and always have a phone charger handy... and maybe don't book everything so tight. Sometimes the journey is about adapting, not just the destination.

I used to think scanning panels fast was good enough to save time. That changed after I spotted a nearly gone bolt during a standard look at a Cessna. The owner had complained about a slight vibration in flight, and there it was, barely hanging on. If it had come loose, it could have led to real damage or worse. Now I take my time with each bolt, even if it means the job runs longer. I see other mechanics in our area slowing down too, which is a good shift.
