Can we talk about my home wiring hack with an avionics tool?

No way, you used an actual aircraft tool on house wires? That's wild. I mean @sethw42 is right about clean connections mattering, but it's kind of blowing my mind. My home's old wiring is so sketchy, I get nervous using the wrong light bulb. The idea of a pro crimp on a tiny wire in my outlet is just a whole other level. It probably works way better, but my brain just sees two very different worlds colliding.

My recent battle with waterfall edge joints... learned a cool trick though.

Yeah, the tape trick @evawells mentioned is a total game changer. I've found that using the really cheap, thin masking tape works even better for small stuff like box joints, since it tears off cleanly and doesn't leave much residue if you forget it for an hour. For bigger panels, I'll sometimes do a full dry run with tape instead of glue, just to practice my clamp placement without the panic. It saves so much time when you actually do the real glue-up. What kind of tape do you prefer for wider boards?

Alright, so I kinda used my buddy's expensive model glue for a junk sculpture... moral crisis time?

Replace it, like, yesterday. That stuff's pricey for a reason, man. You gotta fess up and get a new bottle for your buddy, even if it stings. Using it without asking is a big deal, especially for a hobby where good glue matters. Just own the mistake (we've all been there, sort of) and make it right.

That tricky transition strip finally clicked for me yesterday

Ugh, isn't that always the hardest part?

Vent: Got asked to reuse old glass seals on a high rise job

I mean, "sleep better" is no joke. My brain would turn those old seals into a full-blown horror movie plot.
