Remember when we used to mix mud in a bucket with a drill?

Found a whole section of wall stuffed with old newspapers from the 1920s once. They used them like insulation. Could still read some of the headlines. That rock lathe is a nightmare, especially when your tools quit on you. Hand mixing that thick mud is a special kind of arm workout.

Can we talk about that online 'career accelerator' course I wasted $800 on

Right? I mean I dropped like $300 on a "make money online" course once and it was just a bunch of recycled blog posts you could find for free. @lily_schmidt53 is totally onto something with the free stuff. I learned way more from just joining a few good Discord servers and asking people questions than I ever did from those fancy videos. Feels like they're all selling the dream but not the actual how-to.

Showerthought: a client said my soldering looked like a 'spider's nest'

I mean, I read something once about how messy work can make a client doubt your skill, even if it works perfectly. It's like they see the outside and assume the inside is just as sloppy. So yeah, for trust, neatness is a big deal. It shows you care about the whole job, not just the electrical part.

Am I the only one who sees way more requests for patterned carpet now?

Ngl I haven't really noticed that shift. Most of my clients are still asking for the same solid colors and low pile stuff.

Just read that Rodney Scott only uses whole hogs for his barbecue, never just shoulders.

That "every single time" thing is the real commitment.
