Just had to pick between a $1200 power trowel rental or buying a used one for $2800 cash.

Remember my cousin rented a plate compactor that kept dying every twenty minutes. He spent more time driving back to the rental yard arguing than he did on the actual job.

Spent $35 on a set of internal cable routing magnets and it was a total waste

Honestly, those magnet kits are hit or miss. I've had good luck with the Park Tool IR-1.2, it's a bit more heavy duty for the tight spots. Saved me a real headache last build.

TIL my old way of cutting dados was costing me time and accuracy

I burned through three straight bits on a single oak cabinet project last year. The tear-out was so bad I almost gave up. Switched to a spiral upcut bit for the next one and finished the whole job with the same bit, edges came out smooth as glass. It's not even a close call, the difference is huge. The way it pulls the chips up and out just leaves the cut surface perfect every time. I tell everyone starting out to skip the straight bits entirely now.

Just realized I've thrown away over 2000 expired sandwiches in the last year at my deli job.

Ever think that waste is just part of the cost for having fresh stuff ready all the time? It sucks to toss food, but customers expect that full case every single day. The alternative is running out and losing sales, which is way worse for business.

Just tried both VS Code and PyCharm for my first Python project

Right? So many good options out there lol
